Moths - The Beautiful China-mark

First seen on Monday 27th May 2019 at Croome

Beautiful China-mark moth is yet another example of interesting names moths are given. This family of moths all have brown and white patterns that are said to resemble the identification marks on the bases of Chinese porcelain. The Beautiful China-mark is also interesting, as its larvae are aquatic (similar to a caddis fly). Indeed this one was found on the reeds in the lake, so may have recently emerged.
