Moths - The Common Carpet Moth

There are many different carpet moths, and some look quite similar. This one is the 'common' one, and like most moths, best identified with a good reference book. Their patterns are all distinct, carpet moths tending to have a unique series of bands of colour and shape.


 

You can see how much the older one in the first photo has faded compared to the younger one below, but the pattern is still the same.
