This Crow's full name is 'Carrion' Crow, although you are very unlikely to see the other British crow (the Hooded Crow) at Croome. Crows can be found all over the parkland, either flying around, feeding on the grass (below) and in farmland. More often than not, perched in a tall tree making their characteristic crowing noise.
At first glance, corvids can look similar - crows are bigger than jackdaws, and are all over black including the eyes (jackdaws have pale blue eyes). The crow's beak is quite broad, bigger than a jackdaw's, but smaller than the huge one the raven has. A rook can be identified by its pale, long, very sharp looking beak.
