Flies - The Deer Fly

First seen on Saturday 1st June 2019 at Croome

An interesting looking fly (if there is such a thing) especially with its bright green eyes (which I missed). The Deer Fly is actually related to the Horse Fly and can give you a nasty bite as it tries to drink your blood. The person who's hand this is on didn't know this at the time! Only the females bite deer, the males feed on flower nectar (perhaps this was a male...)
