The Early Bumblebee has three distinct bands of colour the first two are bright lemon-yellow and the third (on the tail) is orange. The Early Bumblebee is not the earliest bumblebee to appear each year, despite its name. They nest underground, in small colonies (50-120), sometimes using old nests from other animals.You can also see in this photo lots of pollen dust on it.
