Wasps - The German Wasp

First seen on Friday 10th May 2019 at Croome

The German Wasp is very similar to the Common Wasp, but a little larger. There are some more subtle differences (but I'm not an expert) - The yellow triangle at the base of the wing has straight sides on the German Wasp rather than rounded, the common wasp has a black anchor where its node would be, and so on. To be fair, you probably couldn't see any of these differences while it was buzzing around the flowers!
