Finches and Buntings - The Greenfinch

First seen on Sunday 3rd April 2016 at Croome

The greenfinch is very common bird to see on feeders. They hog the feeders and fend off other birds while they gorge themselves. Having said that, I rarely see greenfinches on the feeders at Croome. These were singing in the treetops in the shrubbery.

They can often be found in large flocks in the trees around the main lake. These are both males, the female is more of a dull brown.
