Bees - The Honey Bee

First seen on Saturday 25th March 2017 at Croome

As the name suggests, these are the bees that we get honey from. They live in hives and come out to find the flowers and collect nectar and pollen. Honey bees are fairy small, and not brightly coloured.

Sometimes, the queen can leave a colony, taking a large portion of the worker bees with her to form a new colony. These bees can form a 'swarm' on tree - the one below was spotted in a small tree halfway along Croome River.
