The Kentish Garden Snail is identified as having a creamy white shell with dark mottling. It normally lives in woodland borders, and hedgerows - this one was in the small area of woodland to the south of the meadows (near the end of the lake). This snail was introduced in Roman times in the south-east of England (presumably in Kent) but is spreading north and west.
