Bees - The Leaf-cutter Bee

First seen on Wednesday 27th June 2018 at Croome

Leaf-cutter Bees are a family of solitary bee species, known for the female cutting neat segments from leaves and rolling them into a sausage shape, which they then use to make nest cells in a variety of cavities. I wouldn't normally have recognised one (as they look similar to other bees), but this one was conveniently carrying a leaf segment! She was found near the path around the main lake.
