Grasshoppers - The Lesser Marsh Grasshopper

First seen on Monday 24th July 2017 at Croome

Lesser Marsh Grasshoppers are slightly larger than the Meadow Grasshopper (1.5-2.5cm). Generally brown (although they can be green or both!). They too have straight lines on their shoulders, but in a contrasting pale colour. They also have a pale line on their wings. The one on the right still has these markings, but is quite a different brown, and has a green top. If you can hear them, they have a series of soft chirps, about 2-3 seconds apart.
