Birds of Prey - The Little Owl

First seen on Saturday 4th June 2016 at Croome

There are owls on the estate, and no doubt tawny owls, barn owls and possibly even short-eared owls may be out hunting, but you are unlikely to see them during daylight hours.

Little Owls will often perch out on a tree during daylight hours. They are however quite small and usually well hidden. This little owl was in a tree in a much quieter part of the meadows. They do like to keep well away from people, so you'll need binoculars to see them. These photographs were all taken with a very long telephoto lens.
