Moths - The Miller's Nettle-tap

First seen on Monday 28th May 2018 at Croome

Many moths have meaningful names, but this one seems quite obscure. Miller's Nettle-tap larvae can feed on nettles, but more commonly feed on plants of the mint family. They are however, very similar to the Common Nettle-tap, which does feed on nettles. They are quite tiny, with a wingspan of around 1cm, but when folded like this they are quite difficult to spot. This one was one of many I found on plants around the main lake.
