Moths - The Mint Moth

First seen on Monday 12th June 2017 at Croome

The Mint Moth is also known as the Small Purple and Gold Moth - a much more descriptive name. The mint in its name comes from the fact they sometimes frequent garden mint plants. They are quite tiny, around 1cm and often found on flowers. This one is in the centre of an oxeye daisy, which are plentiful at Croome in the summer months.

The one below is living up to its name and is on some water mint.
