Geese and Swans - The Mute Swan

First seen on Saturday 12th March 2016 at Croome

The Mute Swan is the UK's only resident swan. Bewick's Swans and Whooper Swans over-winter in the UK, but it is highly unlikely one will visit Croome. There are always mute swans to be seen at Croome. In fact there is a resident family there, which can regularly be seen either in the main lake, or swimming up and down the river.

You may be lucky enough to see the swans in flight, or just flapping their wings like the signets, catching up with their parents further along the river.
