Waders - The Oystercatcher

First seen on Monday 3rd April 2017 at Croome

These birds are waders, and are normally found on the edges of water, by lakes or the sea. They can be found feeding just a few miles from Croome, on lakes such as those at Clifton to the west. These two were spotted flying through Croome, above the lake.

They have a very loud and distinctive piping call in flight, a continuous 'k-peep k-peep k-peep'. You will often hear an oystercatcher before you see it.
