Moths - The Red Twin-spot Carpet Moth

First seen on Thursday 11th May 2017 at Croome

There are many different carpet moths, and some look quite similar. The red twin-spot carpet moth is however quite easy to distinguish. Like many moths, the name is quite descriptive. The red refers to the red band on the middle of the wings, and the twin-spot refers to the two closely-spaced spots near the outer edges of the forewing. This one was found in the grass, near the church.
