Fish - The Roach

First seen on Friday 31st May 2019 at Croome

The Roach is one of the smaller fish at Croome and would be the sort of fish the herons would eat. They are usually around 5-9 inches. They are relatively easy to spot in the murky water, as they are silver, with orange fins. The Rudd is a similar fish, but they are more gold rather than silver and the fins are red rather than orange. You can also tell the difference by the position of fins, direction of mouth etc but this is not easy when viewed through murky water!
