Crickets - The Roesel's Bush Cricket

First seen on Monday 24th July 2017 at Croome

The Roesel's Bush-Cricket was once confined to the South-East coast, but it is gradually moving further inland North and West. The pale green border around its pronotum (shoulders) and the pale spots on its side, make this one easy to recognise. I found the one below along the meadow path, to the east of the lake. The second one is a female, found later in the year. The pale green is much more vivid now.

For those with good hearing, their song is several long bursts, sounding like a high speed drill.
