Ducks, Grebes and Coots - The Shelduck

First seen on Saturday 5th May 2018 at Croome

The Shelduck is not a common bird at Croome, as it normally frequents coastal areas. It is quite a large bird, with a wingspan of over a metre and is easily identified by its large bright red bill. These two were flying over the shrubbery, towards the river to the south. When I got to the river later, they were not there, so they may have just been flying over.
