These brightly coloured moths can be found in the meadows in the summer months, behaving very much like a butterfly, flitting from flower to flower. Aptly named, they have six red spots on their black wings. In flight, like most moths, their wings beat very rapidly, so they look more like they are hovering, rather than fluttering. These were in the meadows - they like bird's-foot-trefoils (these yellow flowers) which are plentiful at Croome.
