Butterflies - The Small Tortoiseshell

First seen on Saturday 24th June 2017 at Croome

The Small Tortoiseshell has always been one of the more common butterflies. They are bright and easy to spot, and have a very familiar pattern. Male and female both look identical (females are slightly larger). They can be found just about anywhere, but like many butterflies, they are fond of thistle flowers.
