Moths - The Small Yellow Underwing

First seen on Monday 29th April 2019 at Croome

The Small Yellow Underwing is a small daytime flying moth. The yellow referred to in its name is often hidden, but you can just see the yellow band in the second photo. They are quite a 'fury' moth, and only about 2cm across, so easily overlooked. They fly in May and June, so like many creatures in 2019 this one was quite early. The caterpillars feed on the flowers and seeds of mouse-ear plants - which is what this moth is on in the photos.
