Crickets - The Speckled Bush Cricket

First seen on Monday 12th June 2017 at Croome

The tiny creature below is actually a speckled bush cricket nymph - a newly hatched cricket. It will slowly undergo metamorphosis and take its more recognizable adult form in late July. This photo was taken in June. You can see where it gets its name from - it is covered with tiny dots. The second photo was taken in August, and this is the adult (not the same one...)
