Woodlice are land-living crustaceans and have seven pairs of legs. There are many species of Woodlouse, this one is the Common Woodlouse - grey with yellow blotches. They mostly feed on dead plant material and tend to be more active at night. They prefer damp areas, and this one was found alongside the river.
