Feral Pigeons are the ones you will see in and around town centres. They are descendants of the Rock Dove, but you will only see wild Rock Doves in the north west of Scotland and Ireland. These were found on and around the cliffs, so are actually going to be a lot closer to true Rock Doves than most found on National Trust estates.
They are two distinct shades of grey, with black stripes on their wings. They also have a white rump, which you can see in the first photo. The eyes are different to both Stock Doves and Wood Pigeons - Rock Doves have orange eyes.
