The beach at the base of Culzean Castle is a great place for rock-pooling. I only spent a few minutes looking, but found this reasonably sized Shore Crab. Also know as a green crab, they are quite common around the coast. It seems to have lost one of its claws, although this is quite common - they often lose them in fights with other crabs.
