Dippers, Dunnocks, Wrens and Starlings - The Wren

First seen on Friday 10th June 2022 at Gibside

This tiny bird is more often heard than seen, with its very loud song with a trill at the end. Wrens can be found all over the estate and can often be seen flying very low between bushes, and rummaging around on the ground. When they sing, they often perch on posts or exposed branches. This one looks to be a young one. It was found (with other family members) on the river walk path - Wrens do like being near water.
