Warblers, Crests and Flycatchers - The Barred Warbler

First seen on Saturday 22nd October 2022 at Holy Island

The Barred Warbler is relatively large for a warbler, around the size of a sparrow. They are rare visitors from Eastern Europe and are particularly reclusive birds which like hiding in foliage. This one was doing just that, hiding in the willows by the 'Window on Wild Lindisfarne' on the way to the Castle. This one is a juvenile, and quite plain compared to the more patterned adult.
