Moths - The Garden Rose Tortrix

First seen on Tuesday 7th September 2021 at Holy Island

The Garden Rose Tortrix is quite a tiny moth - less than a centimetre long (wingspan 18mm). The colours do vary considerably, from deep browns to pale, but as is usual with moths - the pattern stays the same. The caterpillars feed on rose bushes as well as other shrubs. This moth is mainly nocturnal, so I was lucky to see this one flying.
