The Goldfinch is commonly found on feeders and is particularly fond of the niger seeds. They can however, also be seen feeding on seeds all around the island, (especially the meadows). They fly from tree to tree in flocks, with a 'bouncy' flight. They usually sing with soft, bubbly, tinkling trills. However, when they are feeding they can get quite possessive and argue with harsh rasping noises. In the late summer, flocks of Goldfinches feed on the fluffy seed heads of the thistles.
