The Mute Swan is the UK's only resident swan. Bewick's Swans and Whooper Swans over-winter in the UK, but although a Whooper is quite possible at Lindisfarne it is unlikely you will see a Bewick's Swan. Mute Swans will visit Lindisfarne and sometimes breed in the Lough.
