The Small Heath is found in grassy meadows. As the name suggests its is small, but easy to spot in fight as it has pale brown/orange wings which make it quite bright when flying. When it lands however, the wings usually remain tight shut so you only ever see this view. They fly for most of the summer and prefer fine, well drained grasses.
