These birds are summer visitors. As their name suggests, they catch flies. They are not brightly coloured birds so at first glance not easy to identify, but they do have a characteristic streaking on their crown. However, their feeding habits are quite distinctive - they perch in a branch, fly out to catch an insect, then fly back to the same branch, repeating this many times - great fun to watch. This one was in the willows by the boast years, on the way to the castle.
