Pigeons and Pheasants - The Wood Pigeon

First seen on Wednesday 19th February 2020 at Holy Island

Wood Pigeons can be found flying around the village, sitting in the trees and grazing in the surrounding farm fields. Although initially looking like a stock dove, wood pigeons are different. They are plain grey like stock doves, but have a white patch on the neck, spoiling their patch of iridescent green. They also have a white bar on the wing - very distinctive when flying. Finally, they have those rather scary pale oval eyes.
