Geese and Swans - The Barnacle Goose

Barnacle Geese are with us for the winter months, usually arriving in October, and leaving in the spring to return to Greenland and Svalbard. They are smaller than most other Geese (as shown in the second photo). They are very much black and white rather than the normal shades of brown of our other geese. Their call is more of a bark compared to the honking of the Canada Goose.
