Moths - The Brown Plume

First seen on Monday 19th July 2021 at Druridge Pools

Plume Moths look very different to all other moths. They rest with their thin wings perpendicular to their body, resembling a 'T' shape. They also have very long legs, as you can see in these photos. They get their name from the fact that their wings are very feathery. They tend to fly from dusk but can be easily disturbed during the day.
