Wasps - The Haemorrhoicus Crassigena Wasp

First seen on Monday 2nd August 2021 at Druridge Pools

Haemorrhoicus Crassigena is one of a vast number (tens of thousands) of species of Ichneumon Wasps. These wasps are parasitic and prey on caterpillars of butterflies and moths. Obviously with so many varieties, identification is not easy, so my labels for these Ichneumon Wasps is just 'best guess'. This one is clearly marked with yellow and black (one of each colour on its abdomen), plus the bright white triangle on its back.
