Waders - The Spotted Redshank

First seen on Wednesday 23rd June 2021 at Druridge Pools

Spotted Redshanks are similar to Common Redshanks for most of the year, just a little more taller and elegant. However, in the summer breeding season they turn a very dark colour with small flecks of white in their feathers (the "spots" in their name). They also have a white outline around their eyes, which you can just about see here (it was a bit distant!)
