Wasps - The Tree Wasp

First seen on Wednesday 5th August 2020 at Druridge Pools

The Tree Wasp is one of many species of Wasp. Wasps are not easy to identify, but the simplest way is the various yellow and black patterns on the body and head. Tree Wasps have a large solid yellow patch on their face, and can have a small black dot in the centre. They are also much more hairy than most wasps. They can sometimes build their ball shaped nest in trees.
