Waders - The Temminck’s Stint

First seen on Thursday 18th May 2023 at The Northumberland Coast

The Temminck's Stint is usually rather a rare bird to see, but in the spring/summer of 2023 there were good numbers to be seen in the north east, including three here at Low-Newton-by-the-Sea. They are a very small wader, distinguished from similar species by having paler legs and dark blotches on its back. They tend to feed on freshwater edges.
