Moths - The Purple and Gold

First seen on Thursday 15th May 2014 at Rodborough Common

The common Purple and Gold moth is normally much more brightly coloured, and is indeed purple and gold. this one is quite faded and worn. They are quite small, although there is an even smaller version called the Small Purple and Gold, also known as a Mint Moth. These are both classed as micro moths. They fly in daytime throughout the summer months.
