Red-breasted Geese are rarely seen in the UK, and when they are, they are usually escapes from a collection. However, just occasionally a wild one will fly in with a flock of other geese (usually Barnacle Geese) and over-winter here. This one was found on the Dumbles at Slimbridge, but I have also seen one in Northumberland. Easy to identify (by its name) but it's surprising how difficult it is to spot them in a large flock of other geese.
