The Osprey is an iconic bird of prey, famed for its ability to catch fish in a spectacular way. it is roughly the size of a large gull, but with a larger wingspan. its appearance is characterised by a white head with a black mask across the eyes. There is a distant nest near the Threave Nature reserve, separated by the River Dee. It will catch its fish in the nearby lochs. As you can see, their nests can be quite large - double bed size!
