Flies - The Noon Fly

First seen on Tuesday 21st September 2021 at Wallington

This fly actually has a much more pleasant name than most flies. Called the Noon Fly simply because is can be seen basking in the sun at noon. Easy to identify, as it is jet black, with a vivid orange/gold face, feet and patches the base of its wings. This one was in the Walled Garden - after noon.
