First seen on Sunday 5th June 2022 at Gibside

Sawflies get their name from the fact that the female has a saw-like ovipositor. She uses this to cut into plants to lay her eggs. There are thousands of different sawflies, this one (Rhogogaster Viridis) is green with variable amounts of black markings.
