Gulls - The Yellow-legged Gull

First seen on Thursday 7th September 2017 at Open Spaces

The Yellow-legged Gull is quite difficult to identify. It is like a Herring Gull, but with yellow legs and a darker back, or it is like a Lesser Black-backed Gull with a paler back. You do need to see its legs! They are scarce visitors from southern Europe, mainly found in the south of the UK. This one was on the sailing lake at Frampton-on-Severn.
