Herons, Egrets, Cranes and Bitterns - The Common Crane

The Common Crane is normally found in Europe, but they have been reintroduced in the UK by the WWT. Those bred in captivity are ringed and sometimes satellite tagged - you can see the coloured rings on the two either side. the one in the middle is an un-ringed juvenile, born in the wild. they are large and very tall. they mainly feed on grain and insects.
