Birds of Prey - The Hen Harrier

First seen on Thursday 1st December 2016 at WT Upton Warren

The Hen Harrier is a scarce resident in the UK. They would normally live on heather moorland, so here in Worcestershire is not somewhere you'd expect to see one. This is a female, brown, with a white patch at the base of the tail (known as a ring-tail). The male is very different - pale grey with black wingtips, very distinctive.
