Moths - The Bordered White Moth

First seen on Friday 2nd July 2021 at Cragside

The Bordered White Moth is normally found near coniferous trees, plantations and especially Scots Pine. When these were seen, it was a warm day and there were lots flying around the trees, but none landed for a photo. They tend to be more brightly coloured in the north. The caterpillars feed on the young needles of conifers. They pupate on the ground, under a covering of conifer needles.
